Trademark & Name Policy — LUP4LDN

Ownership

“LUP4LDN”™ and the LUP4LDN logo are trademarks of SCiO P.C., Technology Park Lefkippos, P. Grigoriou & Neapoleos Str., Agia Paraskevi, Athens, GR-15310, Greece.

SCiO created the name and designed the logo, and maintains the original LUP4LDN tool. SCiO led the team that won the GEO-LDN International Technology Innovation Competition in 2021. The LUP4LDN logo is © SCiO P.C. — all rights reserved.

Code licence vs. name and logo

The GPL-3.0 grants rights over the software code. Consistent with GPL-3.0 §7(e), it does not grant any right to use the trademarks, service marks, name or logo of the project or its maintainer. Using the code under the GPL does not give you any right to use the LUP4LDN name or logo.

What you may do

• Use, study, modify and redistribute the source code under the terms of GPL-3.0.
• State factually, in plain text, that your product “is based on” or “is derived from LUP4LDN by SCiO” — as an accurate attribution of origin, not as a product name or as branding.

What you may not do without SCiO’s prior written permission

• Use “LUP4LDN”, or any confusingly similar name (for example “LUP4LDN 2.0”, “newLUP4LDN”, “LUP4LDN Plus”), as the name of a fork, derivative or separately governed tool.
• Use the LUP4LDN logo, or a confusingly similar logo, for any tool, service, publication or promotional material.
• Use the name or logo in any way that suggests your version is the original LUP4LDN, or that it is endorsed by, affiliated with, or maintained by SCiO.

If you fork

Give your fork a clearly different name and its own logo. You may include a factual attribution line such as: “Based on LUP4LDN, developed and maintained by SCiO P.C.”
